The Provisional Picking feature allows for a Consignment to be moved into a 'Ready to Pick' status without the requirement of Inventory being allocated to the consignment.
This feature works in conjunction with Provisional Product, which allows product to be added to a consignment without being immediately allocated from inventory.
Provisional Picking
If you choose to pick product, Consignly will suggest where it thinks you should pick product from. This is indicated with a 'Suggested' label.
This suggestion is made using the dynamic allocation engine, which applies stock rotation and depletion methods defined on the product and/or client setup.
Consignly's suggestion for completing a Provisional Pick
When picking provisional product, the product will be displayed with a 'Production Date' label. This is to indicate which production date the picked product has come from.
Pick Alternative
When carrying out a Provisional Pick, you have the option to pick an alternative product to Consignly's suggestion.
To do so, select the action menu on the product line and select 'Pick Alternative'. This will open the Pick Alternative dialog.

In this case, and if possible, Consignly will suggest other warehouse locations where you may pick product from, applying that products rotation and depletion method.
Product Transactions
When viewing Product Transactions for an inventory product which has been provisionally picked, there will be no hold transactions. This is because the inventory item was never in a hold status.
Instead, a pick action has been executed, creating a 'Pick' transaction.
