The Provisional Product feature allows for product to be added to an Outwards Consignment without being immediately allocated from Inventory.
With just provisional product enabled, inventory is required to be allocated before the consignment is moved into a 'Ready to Pick' status.
A consignment can be made up of a mixture of provisional product and allocated inventory, or entirely provisional product.
Adding Provisional Product
To add provisional product to an outwards consignment, navigate to the products card of the consignment.
Select the action menu, located on the top right of the card shoulder, and choose 'Add Provisional Product'. Provisional product must be enabled for this menu option to be available.

This will open the new product blade, allowing you to search for and select product to add to the consignment.
You may enter optional product details here to target a specific product.
Adding Provisional Product to an Outwards Consignment
This option will create individual provisional product lines. To add multiple provisional product lines at once, use the 'Edit Provisional Products' option from the action menu.
You may also Import Products to the consignment by selecting the Import icon, located on the top right of the New Product header.
Once the Product and Quantity has been selected, select Create Product button to add the product line to the consignment. To add this product line and create another, select the Create More Product button. This will add the new product line and keep you on the New Product blade.
Adding Provisional Product and Allocated Inventory
You may also add provisional product to the consignment via the standard Add Inventory dialog.
After selecting a product from the product dropdown, it will appear as a provisional product line. This is indicated with the grey 'Provisional' tag.
If you choose the Search Inventory button, Consignly will display quantities of that product in your inventory. This allows for a hybrid allocation and provisional approach.
Let's say you want to add 10 items to the consignment, and you have 4 of those 10 items in your inventory. You can allocate those 4 items and keep the remaining 6 items as provisional product lines.

Allocating Inventory
Inventory must be allocated before the consignment can be placed into a 'Ready to Pick' status.
To allocate inventory for a single product line, select the action menu at the end of the product line. This will navigate to the Allocate Inventory dialog for that inventory product.

To allocate inventory for all product lines at once, select Allocate Inventory from the products card action menu.
The Allocate Inventory dialog displaying quantities not allocated
Quantities which cannot be allocated will be indicated with a warning symbol and a 'Not Allocated' badge.
Consignly will suggest inventory based on the inventory's stock rotation and depletion methods.
If your Organisation has Pickface Locations setup, Consignly will suggest inventory from these locations, depending on how they have been configured.
Once inventory has been allocated, you will be able to enter Pick mode.
