This guide walks Admins and Managers through onboarding new Client Partners in Consignly and enabling their use of the Client Partner Portal.
Create the Client Partner Profile
To begin, create a client profile in Consignly:
- Navigate to the Client Partners section
- Open Manage
- Click Add Partner and select Client Partner
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name
- Code
- Email (Optional)
- Tax rate
- Industry
Add Client Addresses
Set up any physical addresses associated with the client, such as delivery or pickup locations:
- Open the Client Partner record.
- Click the Addresses tab.
- Add and label each address clearly (e.g. "Main Warehouse", "Returns Dock").
Define the Products (Master data)
Configure the product master data your client will store and transact with:
Manual entry: Add products via the Products tab.
Bulk import: Use the Import Products option to upload a CSV file, and include:
- Product code and description
- Units of measure
- Product attributes (e.g. batch, expiry)
- Critical stock thresholds (if applicable)
Configure Rate Cards
Set up how the client will be billed:
- Open the Rate Cards tab.
- Click Add Rate Card for the client.
- Add:
- Activity charges (e.g. inwards, outwards handling)
- Storage charges
- Freight charges (if needed)
Test the rate card by creating a test consignment to ensure charges apply correctly.
Invite the Client into the Portal
Enable client access to the Consignly Partner Portal:
- Go to Settings > Users.
- Click Add User.
- Enter their email address.
- Assign an appropriate partner-restricted role based on what access the client requires.
- Link the user to their Client Partner record.
- Send the invitation email.
Consignly provides multiple partner-specific roles with different permission levels - such as view-only, order submission, or reporting access. Choose the role that fits your client's needs.
You can also create your own roles and define the permissions however you like.
What the Client Will Receive
After you send the invite, the client will receive an email from:
Sender: no-reply@consignlyhq.com
Subject Line: Invitation
Email content:
Hi {Name},
You have been invited to join the {Organisation Name} organisation in Consignly.
To review the invitation, just click the button below.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our customer success team anytime.
Next Steps for the Client:
- The client should click Review Invite within 24 hours.
- They'll be prompted to create a secure password.
- After logging in, they'll land in the Partner Portal with the permissions associated to the role you assigned them.
