Consignments
In this article we will take our first look at the three different types of consignments in Consignly – these are inwards, outwards and point to point consignments. We will also show you how to search for existing consignments using the search filter.
Inwards Consignments
An inward Consignment is where goods are being brought from a client or pick up destination and are being brought to your warehouse for storage and distribution.
Inwards Consignments have four statuses:
- Pending: the consignment has been created but product details are still to be added.
- Ready to Receive: all relevant details have been completed and you're ready to receive the delivery.
- Complete: The goods have been received and devanned and the container, if applicable, has been returned.
- Closed: the consignment is complete and the charges have been raised.
Outwards Consignments
An Outward Consignment is where goods are being carried from your warehouse and are being delivered to a Client Partner's customer.
Outwards Consignments have six statuses:
- Pending: the consignment has been created but product details are still to be added.
- Ready to Pick: all relevant details have been completed, including the products required, and you're ready to pick the consignment.
- Ready to Dispatch: all products have been picked and you are ready for the consignment to be collected by a Carrier Partner.
- In Transit: the goods have been collected by the Carrier Partner and are in transit.
- Complete: the goods have been received by your Client Partner's customer.
- Closed: the consignment is complete and charges have been raised.
Point to Point Consignments
A Point to Point Consignment is where goods are being collected from a Client Partner location and are being delivered directly to the Client Partner's customer and not transiting through your warehouse first.
Point to Point Consignments have four statuses:
- Pending: the consignment has been created but may still require product details and it has not yet been picked up.
- In Progress: the goods are in transit.
- Complete: the consignment has been successfully completed.
- Closed: the consignment is complete and charges have been raised.
Searching for Consignments
Clicking on the Consignments menu will present you with a list of all consignments, beginning with the most recent and you can use the arrows at the bottom to scroll through this list. You can also search for a consignment using the Search at the top. Simply type in a keyword to begin your search. You can also click on the arrow to view the filter options; filter by client, carrier, status, warehouse or a mixture of these.
Dashboard widgets can also be very helpful when managing your consignments.
In Open Consignments you'll find a list of all consignments (aside from those that are closed) grouped by status. Clicking an item in this list will show you all consignments which have this status.
The Dashboard also presents widgets which show the Containers in Store and Containers Due and you can open the consignment directly by clicking on the container information.
Outwards Consignments to Dispatch will show you a list of all carrier partners who have consignments awaiting pickup including the number of consignments and the combined volume and weight.
Clicking on the Carrier Partner details will open the Consignments search menu showing consignments with the status of Ready to Dispatch for that Carrier Partner.
