New to Consignly? To get started, you'll need to configure your organisation with the following items in order to start creating consignments.
Activity Charge Types
In order to configure charges for your Partners, you'll need to set up Activity Charge Types.
Activity Charge Types help categorise the types of charges you'll be raising in Consignly.
Note: Enterprise Subscriptions have advanced accounting functions, allowing you to configure your Activity Charge Types with a Revenue Account. If you want to do this, you'll need to create your Revenue Accounts first.
Localities
Freight Charges are configured in Partners based on origin and destination locations. Create these localities from the Organisation menu so you can configure the appropriate charges.
Warehouse
In order to bring product into Consignly, you need to create a Warehouse.
Client Partners
Partners come in two flavours, Client and Carrier. Carrier Partners are used to transport consignments, but aren't required to create consignments.
Client Partners are required to create a consignment, as the products will be transacted into the warehouse for that Client.
Addresses
Client Partners need an Origin Address created. Inwards consignments will bring products into the warehouse from a Client Partner's origin address.
Products
Client Partners need products created so that Inwards and Outwards consignments can transact products from the warehouse. Charges for activity and storage are based on the products that are being moved and stored.
Consignments
After creating the items above, you're ready to start creating consignments!
