Container Yards are a storage facility for de-hiring or picking up empty containers.
Container Yards are used in container-based consignments; the container yard can be selected when defining the container information.
For inwards consignments, this adds a leg at the end of the route, to illustrate the de-hiring of the container to the container yard.
For outwards consignments, a leg is added at the start of the route, to illustrate picking up an empty container form a yard, ready to load for export.
Creating a container yard
From the Organisation menu, choose Container Yards.
Tap the Add button to create a new container yard.
Give the new container yard a name and a code, and then attempt to find the address of the container yard.
Finding an address
Start typing an address into the Google address search field. Select the address from the auto-complete list.
After selecting the address, modify any details as required and then Save the container yard.
If you cannot find the address using the address search, you can select an address by finding it on the map.
To do this, press the location icon. A map will be presented. Move the map until you've found the location, and tap the map to drop the pin.
The address information (including the latitude and longitude information) will be set automatically.
Why is this important?
A map location is important because it may be used in navigation apps to send transport operators to the correct location.
